2024 AMERICANA FEST OFFICIAL SHOWCASE ARTIST & 2024 JOSIE MUSIC AWARD – DUO OF THE YEAR
A Tale of Two is a Nashville-based Americana duo built around storytelling, grit, and songs that feel like they’ve lived a little before you hear them.
Based in Nashville, fronted by vocalist Stephanie Adlington and guitarist Aaron Lessard, the duo pulls from classic influences like Tom Waits, Ray LaMontagne, Patsy Cline, and Hank Williams Sr.—but filters it through their own swampy, modern Southern sound.
They’ve been an Official Showcase Artist at the 2022 Folk Alliance International Conference and finalists at the Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest.
Along the way, they’ve shared stages with artists like Mary Gauthier, Grayson Capps, and Peter Mulvey.
Their songs tend to live in the messy parts of life—revenge, drinking, regret, redemption—but there’s always a sense of humor and humanity running through it. And live, it all comes together in a way that’s hard to fully explain until you’re in the room—tight harmonies, stories between songs, and a kind of chemistry that makes the whole night feel personal.
This is A Tale of Two’s first time playing the legendary listening room Avogadro's Number—an intimate space known for quiet audiences, close-up performances, and real listening.
